Cassette Tapes and Decks

Cassette decks contain a playback head (reads magnetic signals), a record head (writes new signals), and an erase head (clears old data). The capstan motor and pinch roller control tape speed, while guide rollers ensure tracking. Amplifiers boost the signal for output.
The cassette tape is an analog storage medium housed in a plastic shell. Its internal parts include a magnetic tape strip coated with ferric or cobalt particles, two reels to move the tape, a pressure pad to ensure head contact, and windows for tape visibility.

Before digital music took over, cassette tapes and decks dominated how we listened to and recorded audio. From Walkmans to boomboxes, they shaped the era of analogue audio. Today, they're prized for their warm sound and nostalgic charm.
